Fibre Optic Cable Grip
Fiber Optic Cable pulling grips are used to mechanically lay fiber optic cables into protective conduits. Fiber optic cables are very delicate to handle and can get damaged if not properly pulled. Fiber core may get broken or cracked due to excessive tension or stress. Once the cable core is harmed, it may be difficult to detect the damage.
Even when the cable is successfully pulled, damage may occur at the termination phase. Incorrect field termination may result in poor transmission. To solve these problems, pre-terminated single-eye fiber optic cable grips are used.
The pulling eye often has an attached connector with a flexible gripping tube made of multi-weave mesh-fabric. The connector absorbs any pulling tension or twist in the cable. The mesh grips cover up a wide surface thereby evenly distributing the pulling tension.
